About The Pieshop Boys Rising from the ashes of the now defunct Pants, The Pieshop Boys are a retro-futurist electro-rock duo featuring former Pants vocalist and sometime 'guitarist' Ian Oliver on 'guitar' and 'vocals', and New Model Army, The Damned, Atom Heart Mother and Pants refugee Moose Harris on everything else. The Pieshop Boys describe themselves as a fat, heterosexual Petshop Boys, but with loud guitars and meat filled pastry snacks, rather than hastily inserted rodents and wads of money. Their set list features poor quality material from the early 1980s electro-pop and New Romantic eras, classic tunes from the 1960s and 1970s and some crap from the more modern purveyors of popular music. With the first thirty-five tracks of their debut release already in the latter stages of production, The Pieshop Boys will make their live debut later in 2008. |
